Phoenixville field hockey qualifies for PAC Final Four
Field hockey
The Phoenixville field hockey team qualified for the Pioneer Athletic Conference Final Four last week, earning the league’s second wild-card entry. The Phantoms join Frontier Division champion Upper Perkiomen, Liberty champion Methacton and Owen J. Roberts in Tuesday’s semifinals.

GROVE 0 » The Phantoms spoiled the Falcons’ Senior Night festivities with help from Gabby Herschell’s play at the offensive end and a shutdown defense. Herschell scored twice in the first half while Katie Baker tallied in the second off Cassidy Stevens’ setup. While Kyra Trafford and Ameerah Green were credited with assists, the Phoenixville offense allowed Pottsgrove no shots on goal or corners while taking 11 and 19, respectively, at Pottsgrove’s Maggie Dallas (11 saves).

PHOENIXVILLE 17, UPPER MERION38» The Phantoms got individual and team firsts in their PAC Frontier Division meet with the Vikings.
Sophomore Carlos Shultz ran a solid 17:30 on UM’s course to take individual
honors. Phoenixville (5-0) also made a perfect run through the Frontier Division, the finale further highlighted by a 2-3-4 finish fromGabe Pulea (18:03), Connor Wilchusky (18:03) and Zach Kleppe (18:15).

VILLE45» June Sanchez and Amber Strouse went 1-2 to lead the Vikings’ PAC Frontier Division victory over the Phantoms.
Sanchez and Strouse went 1-2 with times of 21:15, followed by Veronica Sanchez in 21:16. Phoenixville’s first finisher was Madison O’Neil, fourth in 21:44.

WOOD0» Keara Hennessey reached a personal milestone while helping the Phantoms sweep their nonleague match with the Patriots. Phoenixville won by set scores of 25-5, 25-6 and 25-6.
Hennessey got her 19th assist on the final point of the match to reach a total of 1000 for her career. She also contributed six aces and one kill to the Phantom effort, which included big play from Kayla Grammerstorf (15 kills, one ace, one block), Romina Broglia (five aces, six kills) andMalu Salin Matos (eight aces, five kills). ERTOWN1» The Vikings celebrated their Senior Night with a PAC victory over the Bears on Oct. 11. PV answered Boyertown’s 25-23 victory in the first set with scores of 25-22, 25-11 and 25-22. The Vikes were led by seniors Helena Clauhs (17 kills, nine digs) and Ellie Min (32 assists, 10 digs). Other seniors contributing were Rachel Rood (seven kills), Jess Oltman (two kills, eight digs, two aces) and Kyle Pelzer (three kills, two digs).

Phoenixville 3, Pope John Paul II 0 >>The Phoenixville boys soccer team picked up a 3-0 win over Pope John Paul II on Monday afternoon to remain on top of the PAC Frontier Division.
Danny Jackson, Tyler Siefer and Clay Kopko each scored for Phoenixville, who moved to 8-0 in PAC Frontier play and 10-1 in league play overall. Gavin Perillo had three saves in the game to preserve the shutout. The Panthers dropped to 5-2 in PAC Frontier play and 5-5 in league play overall with

GROVE 1 » The two-goal outings of Jared Carboy and Kyle Tucker were key to the Phantoms handling the Falcons in their PAC Frontier Division contest. J.T. Stevens and Tyler Siefer rounded out the Phoenixville scoring. Tucker and Danny Jackson were each credited with pairs of saves while Blake Ericksen had one.

Gabrielle Perrotto added a goal for the Phantoms (6-3) while Jesi Rossman added two assists and Savanna Seldes had one. RISTOWN 0 » Sarah Westgate scored on the opening minute Tuesday. And with that, the Perkiomen Valley girls soccer team was well on its way to a lopsided PAC Liberty win over Norristown. A total of nine players got into the scoring for the Vikings in their romp over the Eagles.
Westgate scored twice, as did SydneyMarasco (one assist). Allison Cappelli, Julia Quinn and Kelsey Marino each had a goal and an assist. Rounding out the PV scoring was starting goalkeeper Leslie Adams while playing in the outfield, assisted by Nikki Foller-Moll (two assists).
