Phoenix FictionWriters: Adult writers of fiction invited to attend twice monthly meetings of the Phoenix Fiction Writers at the library. Free. Michener, Esq. of Rick Linn, LLC offers this Phoenixville Legal Outreach Clinic, providing information, counseling, and advocacy in various areas of law, including family law, trusts & estates, criminal defense, landlord-tenant law, and legal issues facing small businesses. Attendees receive a free 20-minute consultation with an attorney, who will provide counseling and access to legal resources as needed. Consultations are provided on a first-come, first served basis. Phoenixville Tech Group: The Phoenixville Tech Group holds weekly morning meetings at Phoenixville Public Library on Mondays from 10a.m. to noon, and monthly evening meetings on the third Thursday of the month from 7to 8:30p.m. The Phoenixville Tech Group brings technology users together to share knowledge and experience. We are particularly interested in helping those who have limited or no experience with computers. The Opioid Crisis in America — Finding Hope and Alternative Treatment Methods: Phoenixville Public Library will host a free and timely presentation, “The Opioid Crisis in America: Finding Hope and Alternative Treatment Methods,” Monday, Nov. 20, at 7p.m. Steve Killelea, founder and owner of Manor of Hope, will be the speaker. Killelea’s son, John, struggled for 10years with a heroin addiction. Their mission is to provide young men struggling with addiction the life skills and education they need to make them active and productive members of the community. In this presentation, Killelea will discuss what he’s learned throughout his decadelong journey of navigating rehab and medical facilities, the science and personal toll of addiction and how he finally found hope when he thought he never could.
