Main St. Winter Flea Market: The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area will hold its annual Winter Flea Market at the Historical Society in the old church sanctuary Saturday, Jan. 27, from 8a.m. to 1p.m. Special members only preview sale: Friday, Jan. 26, from 7to 9 p.m. The market will include lots of vintage, antiques and useful items. All proceeds will go to the society in helping preserve Phoenixville’s history and culture. Snow Dates: preview sale: Feb. 2; flea market: Feb. 3. Harriet Tubman Presentation: Millicent Sparks will bring Harriet Tubman to life Sunday, Jan. 28, at 10:30a.m. at the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Collegeville. Sparks imbues accounts of significant events in Tubman’s life with a sense of Tubman’s personal qualities — her emotional depth, intelligence, dignity, spirituality and courage. At the conclusion of her portrayal, Sparks interacts with audiences, responding in character to questions about Tubman’s life in slavery, the Underground Railroad and the Civil War. Sparks develops and produces researched living history performance programs with special emphasis on the AfricanAmerican experience. The event is free and open to the public. Victorian ValentineWorkshop: As Valentine’s Day approaches, pre-register your children to attend Pennypacker Mills’ morning of crafting, refreshments and fun Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10a.m. to noon in the Classroom Building. We’ll make a lacy Victorian card to share, a bee mine hanging decoration, a paper heart-themed quilt ornament and a sachet tote with lavender potpourri to share.
