Local resident celebrates 107th birthday

Anna Wells Clapsaddle, a resident of Towne Manor East, celebrated her 107th birthday on July 28 at a party with family, friends and staff. Anna who resided in Hatfield for over 40 years, was born in West Conshohock­en. She graduated from West Conshohock­en High School in 1928 and was voted “Best Athlete” in the class of 13 students. At 18 Anna eloped with Frank Clapsaddle and they had two children, a son, Bill Clapsaddle of Exton, and a daughter, Carrie McCoy of Phoenixvil­le. She also has seven grandchild­ren, 11 great-grandchild­ren and 10 great-great grandchild­ren. An avid bowler, Anna won trophies for high scores at the local, city and state tournament­s. She is a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and was very active in the Lansdale Chapter. — Submitted by Carrie McCoy
