Annual 5K has become a fixture in the community
The Moyer Indoor|Outdoor 24th Annual 5K Run, Fitness Walk and Kids’ Fun Run took place at the Souderton Community Park. This year’s male and female winners were Josiah Moyer (16:58) and Sarah Hughes (21:01). The winning design shown on the back of the complimentary T-shirts was drawn by Souderton High School sophomore, Sophia Leone. The recipients of the 5K Cross country Scholarship, funded by the proceeds of the race, were Emily Bonaventure and Sam Kaufman, both 2018 graduates of Souderton Area High School who were outstanding members of the Cross Country team. For the third year, the non-profit Ainsley’s Angels participated. They pair able-bodied runners (Angel Runners) with those who would not be able to complete a race unassisted (Rider Athletes) and participate in local road races using racing chariots on the course.
