Perkiomen Valley hammers C.R. South in district opener
The Perkiomen Valley field hockey team came out steaming in their District One Class 3A playoff second round game against the Council Rock South Wednesday with a 7-2 win, their first game since suffering their first loss of the season in last week’s Pioneer Athletic Conference championship game.
Kelly Baitinger scored 1:08 into regulation and had a hand in No. 2 PV’s first four goals. For the game, she finished with three goals and an assist while Danielle Hamm added a score and two assists in the win. Teresa Bartkowski had a goal and an assist while Olivia Keyte and Katie Wuerstle were each credited with solo tallies in the win. Gabby Martina had an assist.
Bridget Doherty and Katelyn Cocco each scored for No. 18 C.R. South in the loss.
