Schuylkill River Greenways offering free Ash wood

POTTSTOWN » Schuylkill River Greenways is offering free Ash wood to area residents for burning this winter.

Hundreds of dead Ash trees have been cut down along the Schuylkill River Trail and the wood is available to the public by appointmen­t.

If you would like to gather some of this wood:

You must schedule a day and time to retrieve the wood; SRG must accompany you; some tree trunks and branches will require cutting; SRG cannot cut it for you; You must be able to load it onto your truck or trailer; you must sign a waiver prior to bringing your vehicle or tools onto the trail.

The ash wood is located between Grosstown Road in Montgomery County and Gibraltar Road in Berks County.
