WEST CHESTER » The Chester County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has announced the winners of the 2021 Good Citizens Awards.

Each year the Chester County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presents the DAR Good Citizens Award to local high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

This year six students received the award. They are Monica Dolan, Henderson High School; Seneca McCaw, Octorara Junior/Senior High School; Jordan Kane, Oxford Area High School; Jillian Evans, Coatesville Area Senior High School; Hailey Hurlebaus, Unionville High School and Julia Vito, Bishop Shanahan High School.

During the March 7 CCDAR meeting, three of the winners read their good citizen essay and were given a certificate, pin and monetary award by Dawn Coughlan, Chester County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Regent, and Erin DeWolf, Chair, Good Citizens Awards. Senator John Kane and Michael Hartman, representing Senator Carolyn Comitta, presented the students with a certificate on behalf of the Pennsylvania State senate.
