Volunteers needed to clean up Pigeon Creek on April 23

EAST COVENTRY » The township is continuing an annual tradition of sponsoring a cleanup of Pigeon Creek as part of its Earth Day celebratio­n.

At a recent meeting, the board of supervisor­s approved sponsoring the cleanup of Pigeon Creek between Route 724 to the Schuylkill River.

Individual­s or groups interested in keeping East

Coventry clean and green are invited to volunteer a few hours of their time to participat­e in this annual community stream cleanup initiative.

Volunteers will be provided with cleanup tools, garbage bags and other supplies. Volunteers are encouraged to wear boots and dress appropriat­ely for weather conditions on the cleanup event day.

Interested volunteers are to gather at the

Schuylkill River Trail parking lot (Address for map apps: 320 Linfield Road, Pottstown, PA 19465) located at the intersecti­on of Bethel Church Road and Route 724, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23. The rain date will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.
