Bloom’s Kilgallon scores 100th career goal

Women’s Lacrosse

KELSEY KILGALLON (SPRING CITY/ OWEN J. ROBERTS) » The Bloomsburg senior reached 100 career goals in Saturday’s 14-10 win over Shepherd. Kilgallon netted five goals and an assist in the win to reach the milestone.

Freshman goalie Lauren Foley (Schwenksvi­lle/Perkiomen Valley) made a pair of saves in the final three minutes of action and 13 total in the contest to protect the win.

Kilgallon is finishing her time at Bloomsburg with a career year. She leads the Huskies (8-4) with 31 goals, already surpassing a careerhigh 19 she scored in 2021. She also leads the team with 13 assists this season, three shy of the 16 she tallied last year.

COASTAL CAROLINA » A handful of locals figured in on the Chants’ 20-3 victory over Delaware State on Saturday. Senior Sydney Fox (Barto/Boyertown) tallied three assists, sophomore Sydney Tornetta (Audubon/Methacton) scored two goals and freshman Tess Gray (Hill School) scooped a ground ball in the win. Tornetta also tallied an assist in Sunday’s loss to Johns Hopkins.

Tornetta has six goals and an assist in 10 games this season, while Fox has three goals and four assists in five games. Gray has played in 10 games for Coastal Carolina this season with one start, and Mia Sheldon (Collegevil­le/Methacton) has two appearance­s.

KAT KELLEY (COLLEGEVIL­LE/PERKIOMEN VALLEY) » The University of Richmond junior tallied her first assist of the season in Friday’s 19-5 win over VCU.

KRISTI KADA (GILBERTSVI­LLE/BOYERTOWN) » The Millersvil­le junior emerged as her team’s leading scorer in its recent 15-9 loss to East Stroudsbur­g.

Kada scored three goals for the Marauders. who stand 8-4 overall and 4-3 in PSAC action. In 12 games thus far, the midfielder has 34 goals (ninth in the PSAC) and nine assists.

Men’s lacrosse

COLE METZGER (BOYERTOWN/BOYERTOWN) » The Immaculata senior men’s lacrosse goalie was named the Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Metzger put in a fantastic week in net for the Mighty Macs. He recorded 38 saves over two conference games on the week while also aiding the Macs with nine ground balls. On Wednesday, Metzger recorded 18 saves to keep the Macs in the game against Marywood. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Metzger led the Macs to a 10-5 victory against Gwynedd Mercy, shutting down the Griffin’s offense while earning 20 saves.

Metzger has recorded 20 or more saves five times this season. In 11 games, he has 193 saves, leaving him 40 away from the program record of 233 set by Andrew Sim in 2008. BRADY MCFALLS (GILBERTSVI­LLE/ BOYERTOWN) » The junior attackman has scored a team-best 17 goals and added six assists for Washington College (1-8). McFalls scored three goals Saturday in a 22-8 loss to No.1-ranked Salisbury. The roster also features junior Logan Clefisch (Pottstown/Owen J. Roberts), who has five goals and four assists.

Baseball

TYLER STRECHAY (COLLEGEVIL­LE/ PERKIOMEN VALLEY) » The West Virginia redshirt-sophomore started on the mound in the Mountainee­rs victory over Marshall last Wednesday. He matched a season-high with two innings pitched, allowing one run on three hits and striking out one batter.

Strechay has seven appearance­s for West Virginia this season, posting a 4.15 ERA in 8.2 innings pitched.

SAM BARLETTA (ROYERSFORD/ SPRING-FORD) » The Chestnut Hill outfielder continued a strong senior campaign with a two-hit day in Saturday’s 6-0 win over Caldwell in the first half of a doublehead­er. Barletta doubled, tripled and drove in a pair of runs in the victory. Barletta is hitting .302 this season with eight doubles, four triples, two homers and 23 RBI as he’s started all 31 games for Chestnut Hill.

ZAC WEAVER (POTTSTOWN/OWEN J. ROBERTS) » The freshman righthande­r had two strong outings for Penn College past week. The Wildcats rolled over Penn State-Harrisburg April 2, 15-2 — the first time in seven matchups they came out on top — and routed United East Saturday, 13-0.*
