WEEKLY RECIPE with Bette Banjack — 3 ingredient cookies

-

Everyone seems to have a lucky number — mine is a 3. With most things, I like to interact and check to see if a 3 is included. So today I am sharing 3 recipes that all 3 have only 3 ingredients each. Better yet you most likely have all of the ingredients in your pantry. On a day your “sweet tooth” acts up & there is nothing around — within 30 minutes you could have whipped up a treat.

For ALL 3 RECIPES — preheat the oven to 350-degrees. All are baked for 12-13 minutes on a parament-lined baking sheet. Check that they do not burn. When removing from oven allow cooling on baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool completely.

All 3 cookies freeze well or keep in an air-tight container.

PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

1 egg

1 cup of sugar

1 cup peanut butter (storebought best)

Combine all 3 ingredients until smooth. Scoop or roll in 1” balls — place on a baking sheet. If desired, form a crisscross pattern on top with a fork pressing down — how to repeat in opposite direction. Makes 18 cookies.

BANANA BREAD COOKIES

2 large ripe bananas

1 cup rolled oats

¼ cup chopped walnuts Mix all 3 ingredients until combine well. Scoop or roll in 1” balls. Place on parament lined baking sheet. Makes 13to 15cookies.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 cup creamy smooth peanut butter

1⁄3 cup maple syrup/ golden syrup/or honey
