Best friends launch outdoor picnic business
WEST CHESTER » Two best friends, Brenna Medvitz of West Chester and Mary Flynn of Phoenixville, joined forces to launch Wandering Picnics.
“Wandering Picnics allows guests to make memories with loved ones by creating intimate experiences in beautiful local settings,” said Flynn.
“We create ways to make outdoor gatherings naturally enhanced with settings that are functional, beautiful and ecofriendly,” she said.
Wandering Picnics brings the party to the host and guests for outdoor events, set up at parks or a family’s backyard. Event themes range from date nights and book clubs to family brunches and birthday special occasions.
“We provide the table, a rug, place settings, blankets, card
games, pillows — and more,” said Medvitz. “We’re also two people who are very invested in making sure you have the best possible time — it’s just in our nature and I think that shows. We want you to have an amazing event when you book with us and we’ll do what we can to make it an experience, not just a picnic.”
“Our goal is to create a picnic that is so visually appealing that our customers can’t wait to post on Instagram,” said Flynn. “That’s been how most of our customers have found us. Our customers are our best cheerleaders.”
“We’re always willing to work with our clients to bring their vision to life — whether that’s a theme they have in mind, certain flowers for an anniversary, or a way to help make it a surprise,” said Medvitz.
Wandering Picnics works with local photographers and caters, including Peter Clark Kitchen.
“We consider ourselves lucky to be a part of so many special moments over the past year and look forward to many more,” Flynn said.
The ladies launched the business last June.
“I’m always so honored when someone trusts us with their special day,” Medvitz said. “Our clients are always challenging us with fun, new ideas too. We’ve set up at a few wineries at their request and have done so many things we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves. I’m so excited to see where this season takes us.”
