The Phoenix Book Club, Phoenixville Public Library’s virtual book discussion group for adults of all ages, will meet on Zoom on Monday, April 10, at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss “The Barbizon: The Hotel that Set Women Free” by Paulina Bren. The Barbizon tells the story of New York’s most glamorous women-only hotel, and the women who passed through its doors. Post-World War I, women were working in the city’s skyscrapers and wanted what men had-residential hotels with services, cultural programs, private dining. It’s the epic story of the 20th-century woman’s ambition, as seen in the likes of Molly Brown, Rita Hayworth, Grace Kelly, Ali McGraw, Sylia Plath, Meg Wolitzer, and many others. A physical copy of this title may be reserved at www. ccls.org. An eBook may be reserved at https://chester. overdrive.com. This event is free and open to the public and will be held online via Zoom. If you are not already on the Book Club’s email list, registration is required to receive an invitation to this event. For more information, email mpinto@ccls.org.
