There’s a lot going on at the First UMC

PLYMOUTH — If you are looking for a warm and friendly church to attend - - the First United Methodist Church is here for YOU. All fathers will be honored at both services as Sunday is Father’s Day.

MUSIC MINISTRY: The Chancel Choir is taking a summer break but there will be special music during the summer. Organist Kay Finlay will play “Lift High The Cross” for the prelude and “Contemplat­ion on Davis” for the offertory at the 10:30 a.m. service. Thomas Boys is pianist for the 8:30 am service.

The children of the church will hear a special message from Brent Kaufman at the 10:30 am service.

Pastor Toni message is titled “Too Hot to Handle: Poured Out” .

The benedictio­n choral response, “Go Now in Peace”, will be sung by the congregati­on. The First United Methodist Church’s mission statement: “Love God, Love Others, Serve Others”. LOOKING AHEAD AT FIRST UMC: SAT. JUNE 22 - - The First United Methodist Men will have a cook-out at 4 p.m. at the ROTARY pavilion in Centennial Park. This is for the men of the church, spouses and guests. Dave Smith and Mike Woolfingto­n are taking care of the fare. If you plan to attend, it would be helpful if you would indicate this on the sign-up sheet in the back of the sanctuary.

SUNDAY, JUNE 23 - - PICKNIK IN THE PARK - - There will be one morning worship service ONLY, at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. The picnic will be held in Centennial Park following the worship service. It will be at the Hoosier Old Wheels Shelter. Please bring a well filled basket of your favorite food and table service. Lemonade and ice water will be furnished.

JUNE 30 - - FREE CONCERT - - THE STEVE DOUGLASS BAND - - featuring contempora­ry, worship, traditiona­l and country gospel music at 5 pm in the sanctuary. This free concert is sponsored by the Outreach Committee and The Well and is open to the public.

The First United Methodist Church is situated at 400 North Michigan Street and has two services beginning at 8:30 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. The First United Methodist Church is handicappe­d accessible.

Worship with us at “The Well”

PLYMOUTH -— Join us at “The Well” at 5 p.m. this Sunday where Thomas Boys will lead in worship music and Cindy Flagg’s topic is: “Silence is Golden” Using several scriptures.

Those regular attenders are invited to bring a snack to share. Thank You

June 30- FREE CONCERT by The Steve Douglas Band from Ft. Wayne. Steve will present contempora­ry, worship, traditiona­l and country gospel music at 5 p.m. Sponsored by the Outreach Committee and The Well. The concert is Free and open to the public. It will be held in the Sanctuary.

“The Well” is situated on Adams Street in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church and is handicappe­d accessible.
