Lancers will compete at ND
NOTRE DAME — The Laville football team will head to the University of Notre Dame on Saturday for the Fighting Irish annual Notre Dame seven-on-seven high school football passing camp.
This camp provides high school teams with the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming fall season, enhance teamwork, assess skill level, and improve their passing game. The Notre Dame coaching staff will be on site to interact and provide instruction for the teams. All teams are guaranteed four games. Licensed officials will oversee all games.
“This has become a regular summer activity for our football team — it’s quite a good opportunity to compete to see where we stand,” said Laville head football coach Will Hostrawser. “Both offensive and defensive communication will be tested as well as our ability to adjust to different schemes. I know the players look forward to competing. This year we get the opportunity to play a game in the stadium too — so that should be fun.”
“At these events, our coaching staff looks for numerous things in terms of personnel,” continued Hostrawser. “We try players at different spots, look for communication skills as well as game awareness. These events are a good measuring stick for a lot of things. When they are done, we reformulate our plan during football nights to enhance each player’s skill sets.”
The site for Notre Dame Football Summer Camps is the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Campers will have the opportunity to see the majority of campus during their time at camp. Daily practice sessions will be held at Riehle Fields (Labar Practice Fields) on the North end of campus. Many of the nation’s finest athletic facilities will be utilized during each camp session.
