MORE THANKS & A GOOD LUCK

- -Mayor Mark

I think all of us are glad that 2020 is now behind us for so many different reasons. None of us would have predicted how bad one year could get politically, socially and of course medically. 2021 has to be better…right?

Last month I spoke of many changes to the Marshall County Economic Development. Since that time the new CEO, Dax Norton, changed his mind about taking the position. The MCEDC Board of Directors then hired LAURA WALLS to take over the title. Laura comes here with ten years’ experience at Carroll County EDC. She worked diligently with Delphi city officials when Delphi was awarded Stellar designation back in 2012. Laura also has worked in Lafayette and West Lafayette managing their Main Street programs. She lives in Monticello with her husband Trent Wright and their three sons.

I learned early on that Laura is a big Cubs fan (and I am married to a Cardinals’ family!) She is also very involved in her sons’ sporting events at Twin Lakes High School in Monticello.

We all welcome Laura’s leadership going forward!

The past few months I have been sending out more thanks to our volunteer boards and committees The City uses to make this city go & grow! The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission is one of the most important boards that we have. Currently, the board consists of PRESIDENT MIKE MILEY, VP TOM PEDAVOLI, BILLY ELLINGER, SECRETARY NANCY FELDE, CRAIG HOPPLE, and nonvoting member appointed by the Plymouth Community School Corporation MELISSA CHRISTIANSEN. This group does an awesome job of managing and organizing our Tax Increment Finance zones throughout The City. The turnover rate in this group is nearly nil and Dr. Pedavoli has been on the scene since I appointed him when we first started this trek in 2008.

Again, these are VOLUNTEERS, and they are deeply appreciated for their crusading to make Plymouth a better place to LIVE, WORK & PLAY!

Have an awesome winter and “keep smilin’”
