Marshall County back to Blue

Since Starke County maintained the Blue metric classification for the required two weeks, the county is now under a Blue advisory level which reflects minimal community
spread. Under a Blue advisory level, up to 250 individuals are permitted to attend social gatherings and events can take place at up to 100 percent of facility capacity.
Marshall County, on the other hand, remains under a Yellow advisory level, meaning that social gatherings and events are limited to 100 people and individuals can not exceed 50 percent of facility capacity.
General requirements, such as maintaining six feet of social distancing, wearing face coverings while around others and practicing hand hygiene, remain in place regardless of a county’s metric classification or advisory level.
When the executive order related to COVID-19 restrictions expires after Monday, April 5, the color-coded county metrics and advisory level classifications will be recommendations rather than state mandated guidelines but until then, the regulations remain in place.
The color-coded county metric map and advisory level map are updated on a weekly basis every Wednesday. The IDH’S COVID-19 Dashboard is updated daily and tracks the total number of cases and deaths as well as the number of residents tested.
As of Wednesday, March 24, the cumulative case count for Marshall County’s up to 5,569, with 45 of of those positive COVID-19 cases recorded within the last week. A total of 224 new coronavirus tests for were reported within the same time frame which brings the total number of Marshall County residents tested since last March up to 24,102.
In Starke County, 12 new COVID-19 cases were identified within the last week, bringing the cumulative case count up to 1,926 as of Wednesday. A total of 8,804 Starke County residents have been tested for the novel coronavirus since testing began last year. Out of those tests, 69 were recorded within the last week.
