Lions Club elects Lukenbill

-

Plymouth Lions Club President, Ken Lukenbill, was elected as trustee for the Indiana Lions for the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired for a three year term. Lion Doug Feece also received a special 10-year membership award at the last meeting of the Plymouth Lions Club.

It has been a tough winter with the Pandemic but as Lions we continued to serve in whatever capacity we found needed. Whether it was building a ramp or finding a wheelchair for someone in need, or working to continue our Kidsight program in as many schools as possible, or delivering dictionaries to third graders. Wherever we found a need we tried to be of service. Where there is a need, there is a Lion.

Scholarships are next on the agenda and the Plymouth Lions Club voted to once again award three $500 scholarships to Plymouth High School seniors. The Lions Club is also contributes to the Kizer award for outstanding female and male athlete.

The Club will be holding several fundraisers this summer so we may continue to help others have a better life. We will keep you posted with the upcoming events each month.

Lions form our District work to collect, process, and prepare thousands of pairs of used eyeglasses that eventually will be put to use in the district’s eyeglass mission project. The process begins with collecting glasses from locations throughout the district, including retail stores, funeral homes, optometry offices, libraries, churches and numerous other locations that have become known as the place “where the Lions collect used eyeglasses.” Please keep this in mind when you are ready to discard your glasses

because they are no longer of service to you.

In the words of our International President, This is a new year. Time to look ahead and not behind. While we can and must be changed by the challenges of the past year, e must continue to move forward as Lions. And we do this through service. Let’s look toward a new year which will be filled with new struggles, yes, and also new possibilities.” As Lions We Serve! If you or anyone you know would like to join the Plymouth Lions Club, please contact any Lions Club member.
