-

Kimberly Susan Hoesel passed away peacefully at her home in rural Culver on the morning or May 4. She was born to Richard Carter

Hoesel and his first wife, Patsy

Ruth Crull on Feb. 8, 1956 at

Parkview Hospital in Plymouth.

She spent most of her childhood residing in the country home of her parents adjacent to the Burr Oak Gravel Pit which was owned by her father. When her father married Virginia Hammel Clark in 1965, she adopted his three children and they moved to Plymouth where Kim graduated from high school in 1975.

After high school Kim embarked on a career path that included many different occupations. She worked for a pharmaceutical company in Culver, served as a bar tender in different local establishments, worked in real estate, then an optical company and finally retiring from 3M corporation.

Kim was a huge Nascar fan and was especially a fan of Jeff Gordon and Darrell Earnhardt. She was very fond of animals of all types. She kept a journal of animals she observed at her country home such as foxes, deer, owls and many other species. Her love of animals led to caring for many pets over the years including cats and dogs. Her beloved dog Tucker was at her side for the entirety of her transition from this life to the next.

The family would like to thank certain people who went above and beyond to make Kim’s final days more comfortable, including her neighbors John and Barb Dienhart who helped take care of Tucker, Jack White, who provided property care and did other odd jobs for over 30 years, the staff of Center for Hospice Care, the staff of Alick’s Home Medical Supply, and the amazing care givers of Pam Lamb’s Private Homecare. Pam herself has now provided Tucker with a wonderful new home.

Kim is survived by a sister, Alexis Cathleen Hoesel of Culver, a stepbrother, Bill Clark (Joyce) of Tampa, and a stepsister, Judith Mann of Houston. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her smiling face and sunny personality. She is preceded in death by her father, her birth mother, her adoptive mother and a brother, Richard Steven Hoesel (Cathy Jo)

Visitation will be at Grace United Church of Christ in Culver on Saturday, May 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a brief memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church. Interment at Burr Oak Cemetery will be at a later date.

All arrangements made by Odom Funeral Home of Culver.
