Culver Kiwanis Golf Outing set for Aug. 21

CULVER — Culver Kiwanis is seeking sponsors and teams for the annual golf outing scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 21. Every year the club holds the benefit to support Culver children and help fund local youth programs.

The event will be held at the Pretty Lake Golf Club located at 10055 Pretty Lake Trail, Plymouth. Registrati­on starts at 7:30 a.m. and the event will start at 8:30 a.m.

A variety of business sponsorshi­p opportunit­ies include hole sponsorshi­ps for $175 per hole. Prize sponsorshi­ps are being accepted

and are appreciate­d. Details on additional sponsorshi­ps including the food and beverage cart are welcome to contact organizers for those options.

Teams of four can compete for $400. The fee is $100 for individual golfer. Golfers who do not have a full team will be connected with one, two, or three additional golfers to compete.

Culver Kiwanis volunteers raise money to provide scholarshi­ps including the Ralph Winters scholarshi­p, support the Holiday Christmas Basket program, donate to Riley Hospital for Children, and support the Culver Youth Club (formerly the Culver Boys & Girls Club). The club also contribute­s to Culver youth sports, the Culver Community Elementary

School Character Club, the Culver High School Business Profession­als Associatio­n, and contribute­s to the Culver Community High School after-prom.

The club also sponsors the annual top-ten dinner for Culver Community High School graduates, contribute­s time and funds to Blessings in a Backpack, and contribute­s to Culver Union Township Public Library programmin­g.

Spensley said, “These are worthy causes, obviously. It’s been a tough year. Two years really.”

Profession­al, serious, amateur and golfers who hit more divets than balls are welcome to join the fun.
