Dorothy Risner, age 90 of Plymouth, passed away on Dec. 25 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka, IN.

Dorothy was born to James and Bessie (Sumpter) Tyler on Jan. 16, 1931 in Etna Green, IN. She was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Etna Green High School in 1949. She married Donald Risner on May 27, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2012. She worked as a bookkeeper for Don’s Auto Sales, and in the sewing department of the Orthopedic Equipment Co. of Bourbon, IN. She attended the Country Church and the Bourbon Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crochet, telling stories of her childhood, using her IPAD and studying family genealogy and family photos. She was very proud to live on her own until recently.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Vicky L. (Robert) Miller of Lafayette, IN; Linda Sanders of Rochester, IN; Patricia Risner of South Bend, IN; Kathleen (Brian) Adams of Poulson, Montana; 12 grandchild­ren; 28 great-grandchild­ren; 4 great-great-grandchild­ren; and her brother, Ronald (Esther) Tyler of Shipshewan­a, IN. Dorothy is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Don; her grandson, Thomas Ketcham; her brothers: Dermil Tyler; Clarence Tyler; and John Tyler.

Visitation service will be held Jan. 3, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Deaton-clemens Funeral Home (115 S. Main St., Bourbon, IN). Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Kristin Harp officiatin­g.
