Ancilla names new head coach
DONALDSON — Marian University Ancilla College is excited to announce Jeremy Herring as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the 2022-23 season.
He will take over the program from Brian Pearison who has decided to focus on his role as Athletic Director.
Pearison is working to develop all athletic programs at MUAC to consistently compete at the highest level.
As part of his responsibilities he will be taking on a large role in fundraising.
“Jeremy will be a great addition to the MUAC Men’s Basketball program and I have no doubt that he will continue their success,”
said Pearison. “With his leadership, there are great things ahead.”
Coach Herring had the opportunity to assist Pearison this season.
“I am extremely humbled and grateful to Brian Pearison for selecting me to serve as the next Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Marian University Ancilla College,” said Herring. “In his time here he has established a standard of athletic excellence on the court and has built Ancilla Men’s basketball into one of the top NJCAA D2 programs in the country. I am looking forward to continuing his legacy of competing for championships.”
Before MUAC, coach Herring had a vast array of coaching experience including four years as an assistant coach at the University of Illinoisspringfield.
Herring graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Indiana University, Master of Organizational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University, and Juris Doctor, Cum Laude from Valparaiso University Law School.
Herring is presently Assistant Professor of Business at Ancilla
“I believe that MUAC is the best two-year opportunity for students to prepare themselves for the next step in their lives. It’s a place where students will develop academically, spiritually, socially, and athletically,” said Herring. “I am excited to play a leading role in that process for our players as men’s basketball coach.”
