Helen V. Neidigh

August 19, 1918 - March 23, 2022

Helen V. Neidigh, as resident of Signature Health Care of Bremen passed away peacefully at the age of 103 years young. She had been a resident since moving from Mishawaka, Plymouth, Bourbon as well as wintering in Florida for 27 years.

She was born the daughter of eight siblings on Aug. 19, 1918 at Bourbon, IN the daughter of Ralph and Bessie (Ames) Hanes. She attended Bourbon High School and met the love of her life during the school bus ride. She later married Mark Neidigh on June 7, 1935 and they shared over seventy years of marriage before his passing on April 15, 2005. Helen was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed knitting and her family. She did work for the Armstrong Dime Store and the Dairy Queen of Bourbon.

Helen was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a Rainbow Mother Advisor and was past president of the Bourbon Monday Club. Helen was a very faithful member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church.

Helen will be missed by her children: Connie Kuntz of Bremen, IN. Kay (Randy) Anglin of St. Louis (Farmington), MO and Gene (Susanne) Neidigh of W. Lafayette, IN. She was futher blessed with her grandchild­ren: Jerry (Kathy) Neidigh, Lori Gore, Teri (Jamie) Detweiler, Cari (Chris) Snyder, Aaron (Liza) Anglin, Amy (Walt) Halley; step-grandchild­ren: Trent (Kathy) Klingerman, Jacqueline Smith, and Brandi (Gale) Greer. Sixteen great-grandchild­ren, eight step-great-grandchild­ren, several great great-grandchild­ren: her sister Julia Umbaugh of Plymouth, IN and her brother Ralph Hanes of New York City, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Mark, a son Jay Allen, and her sisters: Barbara Rogers, Carol Hunt, Marty Rusher, Dorothy Swank, and Maxine Hayes.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Deaton-clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, IN. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Helen will be buried later with her husband at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, IN.

The family asks that memorial contributi­ons be made to: Signature Health Care directed to the nursing staff who graciously cared for Helen.
