Loren R. Rensberger

Loren R. Rensberger 96 years old, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth. Mr. Rensberger was born on November 7, 1925 in Lakeville, IN to the late Daniel “Lloyd” and Olive (Ryman) Rensberger. He has remained a lifelong area resident. On Aug. 28, 1949 in South Bend, Loren and Dixie L. Betz were united in marriage. Dixie preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 2013 after 64 years of marriage. On Oct. 18, 2014 in Plymouth, Loren married Nadine Zahm who also preceded him in death.

Mr. Rensberger retired in 1990 as the owner and operator of Rensberger Oil Company in South Bend after 38 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Valley Oilman’s Associatio­n. Mr. Rensberger was a longtime member of the Lakeville Lion’s Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plymouth. He proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Navy.

Mr. Rensberger is survived by his son, Dennis Rensberger of Plymouth; daughter-in-law, Vicki Rensberger of Plymouth; four grandchild­ren, Denise (Dewayne) Weaver, Scot (Jina) Rensberger, Nathan (Elizabeth) Rensberger, and Clifford (Charlotte) Rensberger; and twelve great grandchild­ren, Matthew, Sarah, Anna, Haley, Zachary, Jozy, Mazy, Mallory, Colby, Kyla, Audrey, and Jonah. Along with his wife and parents, Loren was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Rensberger; daughter-in-law, Donita Rensberger; grandson, David Rensberger; and two sisters, Imogene Savill and Inez Beron.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Center, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to services on Monday.
