• Kiwanis of Plymouth meets every Tuesday at noon at Opies Deli, 114 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth. We are an organizati­on of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. We support several children’s charities in our community. Come and hear our weekly speakers from business owners to local children’s programs.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20

• The Plymouth Lincoln High School Class of 1958 will meet every Wednesday in April at the Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, 2862 Miller Drive, Plymouth. We like to get started at 11:30 a.m. That will be April 20, and 27. If you have questions call Marilee at 574-341-0758.

• MEDICARE 101 – 1ST SESSION. Donna Elia, a licensed insurance agent, will be at the Life Enrichment Center/marshall County Council on Aging, 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth on Wednesday, April 20 at 9 a.m. to lead an open discussion and provide informatio­n on Medicare/medicaid/disability, providing important dates to keep in mind and some do’s and don’ts that you may not be aware of. She will explain options in different plans and dive deeper into the benefits of these plans that members often miss. THURSDAY, APRIL 21

• The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive at Ancilla College, located at 9601 S. Union Street. It will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointmen­ts are needed. Blood is the most common type of donation, during which approximat­ely a pint of ‘whole blood’ is given.

This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour. A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibilit­y requiremen­ts and have type A, Neg, B Neg, or O blood. Schedule online or call 1-800-RED CROSS.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23

• Argos Music Boosters will be holding a Nelson’s Port-a-pit chicken sale on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Argos High School. Chicken is $8 a half and pit potatoes are $4. Proceeds go toward Argos High School music programs.

• The Plymouth Optimist Club is holding a fundraiser on Saturday, April 23. The club is offering Ralph Smith Tenderloin Sandwich with French Fries. It will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The price is $12. The location will be Centier Bank, located at the corner of Oak Road and Jefferson. The fundraiser helps with the club’s Plymouth High School college scholarshi­p program.

SUNDAY, APRIL 24

• The Knights of Columbus, located at 901 E. Jefferson Street in Plymouth, are holding an All You Can Eat breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Dine-in breakfast includes: regular and blueberry pancakes, french toast, sausage, eggs, coffee, orange juice, milk, and tomato juice. Carry-outs are available. Drive-thru menu includes: 3 regular pancakes, 4 sausage links or patties, scrambled eggs, 1 syrup packet. Proceeds go toward local charitites and churches. • EXPERIENCE TAI CHI April 30 is World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day. Jennifer Weinert, a certified Tai Chi for Health Instructor, will be offering free one hour lessons to bring awareness about the exercise and its benefits. Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art and system of calistheni­cs, consisting of sequences of very slow controlled movements. Plan to participat­e in one of these lessons on either Tuesday, April 26 or Wednesday, April 27 at 11 a.m. at the Life Enrichment Center/marshall County Council on Aging, 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth.
