CGA tops field, Bre 5th

GOSHEN - Culver Girls Academy won the six-team Class B Goshen Relays Saturday and Bremen placed fifth.

Highlights for the Lady Lions included three personal bests in the pole vault to win that event. Maddy Youngman (8-0) and Atlas Mcmanis (7-0) both improved their PRS by a foot while Michaela Berger added six inches to hers (6-6).

The Distance Medley relay team of Hallie Klockow, Amber Barber, Samantha Simons, and Berger finished 4th. The same team finished 5th in the 4×800 relay. The Shuttle Hurdle relay team of Youngman, Stevens, Maggie Rader, and Hannah Pezzuto finished 3rd. The 4×100 meter relay team of Kila Foster, Elle Libey, Zeta Nunemaker, and Agnese Masini finished 5th. The 4×400 relay team of Stevens, Libey, Nunemaker, and Klockow finished 2nd with a new best time. The 4×200 relay of Pezzuto, Aubree Rigney, Masini, and Foster finished 4th. The girls Freshmanso­phomore sprint relay team of Libey, Nunemaker, Foster, and Klockow finished 2nd. The girls shot put team of Youngman, Alexia Canon, and Sarah Stine finished 4th. The discus team of Mackenzie Feathers and Stine finished 5th. The long jump team of Foster and Libey finished 6th.

The Bremen girls squad heads to the NIC meet this Tuesday at Elkhart High School’s East campus with a start time of 5:15 pm for field events, 5:45 for the 4×800 relay, 6 pm for sprint trials, and 7 pm for the running finals.
