Town of Bourbon retires Reserve Officer Both’s badge number

During the Bourbon Town Council meeting on Monday, a proclamati­on was read honoring the service of Reserve Officer Luigi Both. Officer Both passed away april 23, 2021.

Both became a reserve police officer with the Town of Bourbon in Jan. 14, 2019.

“Throughout his law enforcemen­t years, Luigi Both has served the Town of Bourbon and the Bourbon Police Department in a profession­al, dedicated and loyal manner. and whereas on May 9, 2022, badge number 4720… worn proudly by Reserve Officer Luigi Both will be, by this proclamati­on officially retired,” read Town Council President Ward Byers.

He went on to further read, “Now be it proclaimed that the Town Council of Bourbon, Indiana expresses it’s gratitude and appreciati­on for the dedicated service of Reserve Officer Luigi Both. For his dedicated service to the department and the safety of the citizens of our community.”

His wife, Dr. Laura Both, was presented with a flag made for Luigi by the Bourbon Police Department as well as a display that memorializ­ed his service.
