E. Kay Mallory

Kay Mallory, 79, of Culver, passed away at home with family by her side on May 7, 2022.

Kay was born to Rev. Robert and Edna (Miller) Snell on July 20, 1942, in Greenville, Ohio. She was one of four children. Shortly after graduating high school Kay married the love of her life and best friend, Phillip K. Mallory, in West Lafayette, Indiana on Jan. 21, 1961. Together they raised two children and suffered the death of an infant daughter.

Kay was a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church, in Culver. She and Phil held many positions on various church committees over the years. Kay sang in the choir for many years. She was also one of the first teachers of Wesley's Preschool.

Kay was an executive assistant to the Dean of Schools at Culver Academies for many years. After her retirement, she became active at the church thrift shop for as long as her health allowed. She will be greatly missed by her church family and friends.

Kay enjoyed reading and music. She also enjoyed needlepoin­t and playing the piano.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Kris (Doug) Bernhardt of Culver, Indiana son, Kevin (Andrea) Mallory of Lapaz, Indiana, sister, Jane (Jerry) Mattern of Ligonier, Pennsylvan­ia, and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Laurie Kay Mallory, brother, Jim Snell, and sister, Marjorie Hartlep.

A memorial service for Kay will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 511 School Street, Culver, Indiana, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2 p.m. Rev. Tom Harzula will officiate. Interment will be private.
