BOURBON — At the recent Triton School Corporation board meeting, Mr. Rodney Younis was recommended and approved as the new Athletic Director for Triton School Corporation beginning with the 2022-23 school year. The decision was recently made to split the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal positions to better meet the needs of the corporation, which started the hunt for the next Athletic Director. More than 20 candidates applied for the position, four of which ended up interviewing with the search committee. Interviews took place on Thursday, May 5, and the search committee consisted of teachers, coaches, administration, parents and students. After interviewing several worthy candidates, the committee felt that Mr. Younis best met the current needs of the staff, students and the Triton School Community.

Mr. Younis has spent the past 20 years teaching at Triton Jr. Sr. High School in the Health and PE Department. Much of this time has been spent working with his students in the weight room on strength and conditioning. During this time, he has also spent 14 years as the head football coach. He has coached a total of 24 years in various sports. Mr. Younis’ coaching experience, leadership over the years and ability to build meaningful relationships made him the ideal candidate. The Triton School Community would like to congratulate Mr. Rodney Younis on becoming the next Athletic Director at Triton School Corporation.
