Falcon JV wins tourney

NEW CARLISLE - The Glenn HS junior varsity tennis team traveled to New Prairie to participate in a four-team invitational including the hosts, Michigan City and Mishawaka. Playing for the Lady Falcons were Kelsey Yelaska, Isabel Allsop, Brooke Vermillion, and Helen Guseilla. All of the girls swept their competition to take home first place.

Match Results:

Kelsey Yelaska, playing 1 singles, defeated her opponents from Michigan City and New Prairie in set scores of 8-5 and 8-5 to win first in her division.

Isabel Allsop playing in the 2 singles position defeated her opponents from Mishawaka and Michigan City with set scores of 8-3 and 8-3 to take first as well.

Brooke Vermillion and Helen Guseilla played in the number 1 doubles spot for the first time together. They defeated their opponents from New Prairie in a close set with a winning tiebreaker score of 7-3 to advance to the championship round. There, they easily defeated Michigan City with a set score of 8-2.

The Lady Falcons will be back in action today for their final regular-season match of the season at Mishawaka.
