Debutants to rock the Moon with bluegrass this Weekend
There’s fun for the whole family this Saturday at Wild Rose Moon when the free-spirited seven-piece string band the Debutants arrives to rock the Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour and concert hall. Only two years since forming and this innovative Ft. Wayne band has already played the Embassy and Clyde Theaters to packed houses. With a new LP, Nobody Knows, filled with spirited songs, the band is sure to continue taking the world by storm. The band started with Lynn Nicholson and Jon Swain playing together in Homestead High School, moving apart and then coming back together in March of 2019. When they hit the pandemic they had already added a lot of players, including the notable fiddler, Sean Hoffman, and so they used the time to
practice and produce tunes for their online audience with the clever title, Quarantunes, building up a fan base. With all that rehearsal under their belts, when things opened back up they were ready to rumble. And rumble they did, playing at house parties, beer halls, and now, huge concert venues. “It’s just taken off!” Fiddler, Sean Hoffman, remarked. “There’s such a thirst for bluegrass wherever you go, and with a full-throated, high-energy band like this one, really the sky’s the limit.” You can become airborne too and catch the Debutants at 4 pm., for the Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour, and at 8 p.m. for the concert.
