Nancy J. Scheetz

Nancy J. Scheetz (Chumney), 78, of Trouy Mo. joined her Savior in heaven on Nov. 16, 2021, from complicati­ons of a stoke. She was born on Jan. 1, 1943 in Plymouth, Indiana to Howard A. Scheetz and Julie M. Kaufman, both of Plymouth.

Nancy graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961. She married Jerry Brandt in 1961, and was blessed with a baby girl names Sherry. In the mid 60’s Jerry and Nancy were divorced and Nancy later married Larry Chumney of St. Louis Mo. Larry was assigned to a Submarine based in Groton Ct.

They later owned and operated “Chums Restaurant” in Troy, MO. It was open 24 hours a day and was well known for its home cooked meals and baked goods.

She was proceeded in death ny hjer daughter Sherry; brother John Sheetz and his wife Mary Pat (Boys) of Grovertown, IN; another brother Steve W. Scheetz and his wife Barbara of South Bend, IN; and a sister Cynthia (Mitchell) Gleason of North Miami, FL.

Nancy’s brother, William K. Mitchell, who recently moved to Florida from Edwardsbur­g, MI passed away on Jan. 25, 2022, in a tragic accident. He is survived by his wife Debbie.

Nancy’s grandchild­ren are Joey Chumney Eads and Lana Eads.

There will be a celebratio­n of life service for Nancy at Lakeville Baptist Church in Lakeville, IN on Tuesday May 24, at 2 p.m.

Nancy will be interred at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, IN, where a private service will take place for family only.

Nancy graduated from Plymouth High School, class of 1961. She was well known as an avid button collector, buying and selling – always have thousands of buttons everywhere.
