KOONTZ LAKE—ON Friday, Oct. 14 at approximately 7:43 p.m., the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call from the 19,000 block of 4B Rd. in reference to a residence being struck multiple times by bullets that were being fired from nearby. The caller advised that one of the bullets has struck the bedroom window where his children were sleeping and further that the broken glass has injured one of his children. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department patrol units arrived in the area and located the suspects shooting in the 4,000 block of Thorn Rd.
Through an investigation, it was determined that the three suspects did not have a sufficient backstop to be shooting the semi-automatic rifles toward the victim’s residence. Donovyn Carmack (22 years of age from Mishawaka), Dalton Carmack (25 years of age from Mishawaka), and Kendric Emerson (32 years of age from Plymouth) were all arrested for the offense of Criminal Recklessness Shooting a Firearm into an inhabited structure (level 5 felony). Said suspects are being held at the Marshall County Jail on a cash bond of $1,505.
