Bobbi J. Reinhold Democrat Clerk of the Marshall Circuit Court (Marshall County Clerk)
I am running to be your Marshall County Clerk because I believe that I can make the public’s interactions with the court system easier to understand and navigate.
The position of County Clerk is unlike others you will be voting for this November. A Clerk has no impact on issues that come before the County Commissioners, County Council, Statehouse or Federal Government. My responsibility as the Marshall County Clerk will be to serve you, the citizens of Marshall County. That is done in many ways. The Clerk is a member of the county board of elections and is responsible for voter registration and ensuring the continuation of fair and transparent elections. I say continuation because Marshall County has never had a problem with how we handle our elections, and we don’t intend to start.
On the clerical side of things, all court proceedings start with the Clerk. The Clerk is the official custodian of all court records, is responsible for collecting and disbursing court costs, child support, and judgments, the issuance of marriage licenses, performance of civil marriage ceremonies, collects passport applications to be forwarded on to the federal government, and more. A good candidate for Clerk must be able to maintain a happy and smoothly functioning office as well in order to make sure the county’s needs are met.
I said above that I want to make the system easier to navigate and understand. I believe with my 20-plus years of working within this system, on both civil and criminal matters, that I am the most qualified person for this position. I keep up to date on the filing system and look forward to continuing to learn and grow as technology continues to change. I have experience in grant writing, maintaining records, and public relations. And, I am very excited about the opportunity to broaden my abilities and learn more of the items I may not have experience in. I hope to work with other clerks to make filing requirements in all Indiana counties the same. As of now they can vary from one county to the next and that is not very user friendly. A more efficient process is needed and it is one of my goals to make that happen.
