Culver EMS

-

The Culver-union Township Ambulance Service was established in 1979 by the trustees of Union Township and the Town of Culver. Since 1979, many hard working, dedicated volunteers have provided countless hours to the community as Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (B-EMT), Basic-advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (BA-EMT), and Paramedics. As of Aug. 1, 2017, the service is operating at paramedic level of care.

Culver-union Township EMS provides 24-hour, 365 days per year coverage to the citizens of Union Township and the Town of Culver.

Culver-union Township Ambulance Service is a department of the Town of Culver, employs three full-time paid paramedics and additional part-time staff, and provides round the close coverage.

Each month, members of both groups participate in continuation education in various areas and topics. Some areas are: American Heart Association’s Healthcare Provider CPR and Defibrillator course, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations training, HIPPA, Weapon of Mass Destruction, National Incident Management training, Incident Command, Air Ambulance (Helicopter) ground operations, Environmental Emergencies

and Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC). Guest speakers conduct much of the training “in house”. Members will travel out of the area to receive training so they can stay up to date with the many areas of Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine. Journals, training videos, and DVDS also are available.
