George W. Smith, 87, of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 at his home with his family and friends by his side.
George was born Oct. 12, 1935 in Bremen, Indiana, the son of Henry Smith and Flora Mae (Lock) Smith.
George was a member and an elder of the Plymouth Congregation of Jehovah's
Witnesses. He lived a beautiful life as one of Jehovah's faithful servants with the resurrection hope promised in the Bible. His life was filled with respect, wisdom, humor, and joy. He managed to place a smile on everyone's face he met and was known his storytelling and jokes. He lived his life in a generous way giving of his time, money, and efforts. When people needed his help he was always available. Anyone who needed a home, he made sure they always had one to come home to. He was a man with many interests enjoying nature, cutting wood, and working in his garden. He was a true family man and loved them very much. He will be truly missed by many.
George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Louise (Gilbert) Smith; three sons, Michael Smith of La Paz, IN, Jeffery Smith of Plymouth, IN, Carlos Estrada of South Bend, IN and his daughter-in-law Karen Smith; two daughters, Mary Hedges of Georgetown, TX, Michelle Hedges of Winimac, IN; brother, Herman Smith of Walpahu, HI; sister, Clara Mae Pipper of Bremen, IN along with numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Carl Smith, and a sister, Joann Guild.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022 at 3 p.m. EST at the Plymouth Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9019 Suter Rd, Plymouth, IN 46563. A Zoom Session will be available at Zoom ID:822 3065 4745 with a Passcode of Job1415. There will be no graveside services.
