A historic meeting between No. 1’s

Two weeks ago college football had a rare regular season meeting between No. 1 and No. 2 when Georgia played Tennessee.

An even more historic contest will take place this weekend when the No. 1 team in the AP poll (still Georgia) takes on the No. 1 team in the Bottom 5!

This unheard of situation came together thanks to Kentucky’s loss to Vanderbilt last week. The

No Mass range of motion? Buffalo (Bulls not Bills) solidifying its place at the top of the Bottom 5. The Commodores had lost 26 straight conference games up to that point, but Kentucky came through.

Texas A&hmmm (3-7) allowed just 60 yards passing, forced three turnovers and gave up just one touchdown … yet lost and are in sole possession of last place in the SEC West. It was the sixth straight loss for the preseason top10 Aggies. Time to sign Jimbo Fisher to another extension? Uh, no.

Notes I: Penn State head coach James Franklin did 15 push ups on the sideline after receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty - the first time in 12 years as a head coach he has been assessed a penalty.

Notes II: Gone South, Florida (1-9) gave up more than 40 points for the seventh time this season. Akron (1-9) played on a Tuesday and still lost, 34-28, to Eastern Michigan. The University of Virginia had two pick-6’s on its first two offensive plays against Pitt. After just 16 seconds of game time the Cavaliers were losing 14-0.
