Lady Pilgrims back in win column over Logansport
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s Lady Pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving a little early with a 48-43 win over Logansport.
“We did a great job of executing the x’s and o’s in this game,” said Plymouth head coach Micaela Schalliol. “Obviously at the end they sped us up a little bit and the game was on the line we did get sped up. We just gotta remember in those moments why we’ve been successful. We need to continue to do what’s been working for us and just slow down.”
The Lady Pilgrims jumped in front early and held on to take the win. Taylor Delp was back in double/double form with 22 points and 9 rebounds.
Claire Mcdonald came off the bench to provide a spark getting into the ball game and burying a three on her very first touch. She ended the night with 10 points
“Yeah obviously Claire is such a huge offensive threat for us a big weapon for us to use,” said Schalliol. “She played a great game tonight.”
Lena Jones had a great floor game with eight rebounds and six assists. Rylee Mann had another of her rock-solid nights under the basket.
“She does the dirty work nobody wants to do. That’s what Rylee does every day in practice and our girls hate when Rylee defends them,” said Schalliol “She makes it so hard on them and she makes it difficult for the opponents.”
Freshman guard Alana Allen got a start for the first time in her high school career and was having a big night when a hard foul under the basket took her from the game. How long she may be out is unknown.
“All we know is that we couldn’t put her back in the game,” said Schalliol. “It was her head so I would think that we are probably looking at concussion protocol.”
Plymouth is now 2-4 on the year and will be in action next week at Tippecanoe Valley.
