Lisa Smothermon March 5, 1985 - January 10, 2023

-

Lisa Smothermon, 37, passed away unexpectedly, in her home, on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023. She was born on March 5, 1985, in Plymouth, Indiana.

She was a 2003 graduate of Oregon-davis High School where she made lifelong friends, played volleyball, and acted in drama club. After high school she resided in Mishawaka for the majority of her life where Lisa found a career in finances with the most wonderful work family at Korhorn Financial. She stayed with them for eight years.

Lisa cherished her family and friends with all her heart. Not only did she always make time for her siblings, aunts, uncles, parents, and grandparents, but she raised two incredible sons. She dedicated her life to making the world a fun and fascinating place for them; taking them on adventures, teaching them life lessons, and reminding them of how much she loved them.

She had a passion for leopard print and a great desire to try new things. She loved playing board games with her sons, coloring, listening to music, scrapbooking, “fancy baking”, and putting her personal touch on everything she created with her treasured wax seal stamps. Lisa found so much joy in cheering on her sons at their baseball games, snuggling with her dogs (Wrigley and Rizzo), visiting and feeding the giraffes at the Potawatomi Zoo, binge-watching her favorite cooking/baking shows, and rooting for the Cubs with her two boys by her side. She prided herself on self-improvement, and tackled new goals with a fierce and educated plan of attack.

Lisa was small in stature, but she was monumental in her thoughtfulness and generosity. She continually supported family and friends with her encouragement and company. She was there to listen, there to embrace, and there to give her love.

She is survived by her two sons, Jack and Carson Smothermon of Mishawaka; Louise Buza (mother) of Bremen, IN; Mark Pulliam (father) of Walkerton, IN and Robert and Vertie Pulliam (paternal grandparents) of Grovertown, IN. She is also survived by her siblings Christine (Scott) Voss of La Porte, IN; Ryan Jackson of Niles, MI; Katie (Dan) Bennett of South Bend, IN; stepsister, Brandi (Danny) Burke of St. Louis, MO, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her (maternal) grandparents, Louise and Harold Crawford and her stepfather, James Buza.
