Marshall County awarded federal funds

Marshall County has been awarded federal funds in the amount of $7,912.00 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county, made available through the Dept. of Homeland Security/fema under the Emergency Food & Shelter Program.

a local board will determine how the funds will be distribute­d among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies. Local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits (with a voluntary board) or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrim­ination, and 5) have demonstrat­ed the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs.

Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying must send a letter of interest to the local board chair, Janis Holiday, Marshall County Council on aging, 1305 W. Harrison, Plymouth, IN 46563, 574-936-9904, jholiday.mcoas@hotmail.com by March 24.
