Sunday, March 26, 2023 Fellowship & Coffee 9:15 a.m. Traditional Worship Service 10 a.m. Scripture Lesson Ezekiel 37:1-14; John 11:1-45

The Sermon “Disappointment and Unanswered Questions.”

“In our Gospel reading this week from John 11:1-45, it is not hard to imagine questions that might be running through the minds of the disciples and the hearts of Mary and Martha. They are the same kind of questions I have heard asked and asked myself upon hearing of tragic accidents, deaths, and funerals that come way too soon. They are the same kind of questions we ask ourselves and each other whenever life is interrupted and changed in ways we do not want. They are the same kind of questions we ask when circumstances show us just how difficult, fragile, and beautiful life really is. The ultimate question, the one that lies behind and grounds all other questions, is the one God asks of Ezekiel. “Mortal, can these bones live again?” That question is the valley that cuts through the center of our lives. And yet, it’s not a simple yes or no kind of question. Plan on joining us this Sunday as we dig deeper into “Disappointment and Unanswered Questions.”

First United Church of Christ is located at 321 N Center St Plymouth, IN 46563

“A faithful family of God, committed to proclaiming the peace, faith, and love of Jesus Christ to all!”

No Matter Who You Are Or Where You Are On Life’s Journey, You Are Welcome Here!

We believe in the triune God: Creator, resurrected Christ, the sole Head of the church, and the Holy Spirit, who guides and brings about the creative and redemptive work of God in the world.

We believe that each person is unique and valuable. It is the will of God that every person belongs to a family of faith where they have a strong sense of being valued and loved.

We believe that each person is on a spiritual journey and that each of us is at a different stage of that journey.

We believe that the persistent search for God produces an authentic relationship with God, engendering love, strengthening faith, dissolving guilt, and giving life purpose and direction.

We believe that all of the baptized ‘belong body and soul to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.’ No matter who – no matter what – no matter where we are on life’s journey
