Fifth Sunday of Lent at First United Methodist Church

PLYMOUTH — The First United Methodist Church is temporaril­y meeting at the First United Church of Christ on Center Street.

BRING YOUR CHILDREN as pastor Lauren is giving a CHILDREN’S SERMON and she is focusing more on the children of the church.

OPENING MUSIC: pianist Amme Girten will play “When Jesus Wept” for the prelude and “Jesus Paid It All” for the music meditation at the 8:30 a.m. service. Then Pianist Sarah Smith and organist Kay Finlay will play “Lenten Meditation” for the prelude and “Pani Angelicus” for the Music Meditation at the 11:15 service.

SUNDAY’S LITURGISTS: Jim Easterday for the 8:30 a.m. service David Cochern for the 11:15 a.m. service.

CHANCEL CHOIR: “Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone?” accompanie­d by pianist Sarah Smith and organist Kay Finlay.

PASTOR LAUREN’S SERMON: “Grace for the Wretched”.

The congregati­on will sing “Go Now In peace” at the close of the service.

COMMUNITY MEAL: will be held Wednesday, March 29, in the First United Methodist Fellowship Hall will be served from 5 p.m. - - 6:30 p.m. You may dine-in or carry out. The menu is sloppy Jo, potato chips, cole slaw and a cookie.

April 6, Maundy Thursday • 6:30 p.m. at UCC including Holy Communion and the UCC is invited to join us for worship. The Combined Choir will sing. Come early at 5:30! – UCC has invited us to join them for a carry-in meal prior to worship. Bring salads, side dishes, or desserts. Sandwiches, beverages, and table service will be provided.

April 9, Easter Sunday 8:30 a.m. Sunrise Worship Service at UCC 9:30 – 10:45 Breakfast at FUMC Fellowship Hall.

[No Sunday School] 11:15 a.m. Easter Worship at UCC: The Choir sings and Kay & Sarah will have special music.

LET US PRY: Lord God, heavenly Father, you know that we are set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: Grant us such strength and protection, to support us

in all danger, and carry us through all temptation­s; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fifth Sunday of Lent at “The Well” PLYMOUTH - - “The Well” meets every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall situated on East Adams Street.

Cindy’s message is “I Am The Resurrecti­on” using scriptures John 11:1-45. Hymns: “He Lives” and “My Jesus, I Love Thee”.

WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY: Join us every Wednesday evening, in the First United Methodist Church’s Education Building situated on East Adams Street from 6-7:30 p.m. We will be studying the Book of II Timothy.

Bring a snack to share, a drink for you, paper and pencil, your Bible, and a friend! The Book of Colossians will be studied. All are invited.
