Joan Mae Pritchard

Joan Mae Pritchard (87) passed away at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, Indiana.

Jo was born on Nov. 19, 1935 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the daughter of Frederick and Garnet (Wellsand) Butterfiel­d.

Jo is survived by two daughters: Sherlynn (Sherry) Barnes and her husband Dan of Ferdinand, Indiana; and Rebecca (Becky) Pritchard of Plymouth, Indiana; eight grandchild­ren: Dana (Jacob) Blythe; Joshua Barnes; Scott Raskow; Stacey Erickson; Sonya (Brad Breeding) Pritchard; William Mills IV; Brandy (Jason) Stuart; and Jacob Pritchard; along with special grandchild­ren: Angela Mills; and Devin O’malley; Sixteen great-grandchild­ren: Lauren (Ronnie) Prestamer; Hanna (Cody Clark) Brown; Trey Barnes; Trista Barnes; Joshua Christmas; Caleb Raskow; Allyson Raskow; Lauryn Raskow; Tony Raskow; Alyssa Raskow; Emma Raskow; Brock Breeding; Zuri Breeding; William Mills V; Aden Mills; and Cass Stuart; five great-great-grandchild­ren: Paisley Prestamer; Violet Prestamer; Madison Raskow; Kylynn Darmer; and Bryant Darmer. Jo is also survived by her sister, Sally Collins, and several nieces and nephews.

Greeting Jo in heaven are her parents; brother, Frederick Butterfiel­d; sister, Diana Strehler; son, Michael Pritchard; and daughter, Barbara Mills. Jo was able to greet her great-granddaugh­ter, Olivia Brown, who tragically passed five hours after her “old mama.”

Jo loved her job as an aide for the special needs program at JESSE until her retirement. She was especially proud of the perfect performanc­e review that she received from her principal.

Per Jo’s wishes, there will be no service. A family celebratio­n will be held at a later date.

Sherry and Becky would like to thank Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care that Jo received during her stay. You were a Godsend to us all. They would also like to thank all of Jo’s friends that helped her these last few years. She was blessed to have you in her life and the family is forever grateful to you.
