Carl Brock

Carl “Red” Brock, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at his winter home in Wimauma, Florida.

Carl was born on May 21, 1931, in Twila, Kentucky, to the late Eli Brock and Vina Howard Brock.

Carl proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the service he relocated to Indiana and met the love of his life, Darlene Ann Warner. They were married on Jan. 28, 1956, and they remained in Marshall County their entire married life. They were devoted to each other for 38 years when she passed away in September 1994. They were long time members of the Culver Eagles and enjoyed great times with friends. They looked forward to their annual trip to Vegas with their friends.

Red’s working career was with the Culver Military Academy as a Chef. He started at the Culver Inn and retired from the Dining Hall. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends after his retirement.

Red participat­ed in the activities of the Church of God in Wimauma, Florida. He traveled around on his golf cart more than his car. He went on several cruises with the church group and truly enjoyed them.

Red is survived by his sister: Evelyn Brock and sister-in-law: Virginia Brock. Also missing Red are many nieces and nephews and neighbors in Argos who were kind and caring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Stokley, Riley, George, Randy, and Eli Brock Jr., and sisters: Jewell and Florine Buell.

Military Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1 p.m. EDT at the Burr Oak Cemetery, 19441, 14-B Road, Culver IN 46511

Immediatel­y following services will be a luncheon at the Culver Finney-shilling VFW Post 6919, 108 E. Washington Street Culver IN 46511.
