• The West High School Alumni Associatio­n will have a dedication ceremony on Saturday June 10 of the West Memorial Park area located north of where the old West Township school was located, on Sycamore Rd and the curve on State Road 17. The ceremony will start at 2 p.m. (EST) with an unveiling of the new West Memorial Park cast aluminum sign created by Artistic Bronze of Ocala, Florida, and cutting of a ribbon by Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter and West HS Alumni Associatio­n president Lewis Haug (West 1956). Other officials participat­ing are Ruby [Samuels] Whiteman, West Alumni treasurer ( West Class of 1959AM), West HS alumnus Mary [Leland] Meyer (West Class 1959), and West township trustee Terry Borggren, who attended West elementary through 1965 and was a 1973 graduate of Plymouth High School. The public is welcome to attend, and the West alumni associatio­n members hope that the Plymouth community will enjoy for many years to come the picnic table and sign provided by donations of the West Alumni members, the Memorial brick wall with names of students, teachers, and staff who attended or worked at West schools, and the flowing well which has existed there since the county was settled in the mid 1830s and 1840s. • NIPSCO retirees monthly luncheon is on June 13 at 11:30 a.m. at The Brass Rail. All retirees, friends, and relatives are welcome.

THURSDAY, JUNE 15

• There will be a blood drive at the Knights of Columbus, located at 901 East Jefferson Street in Plymouth from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Blood and Power Red donations are being taken. Blood is the most common type of donation, during which approximat­ely a pint of ‘whole blood’ is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour. A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibilit­y requiremen­ts and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O Blood. To reserve your spot, visit www.redcrossbl­ood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

• The Mobile Medical Unit will be at the Life Enrichment Center/marshall County Council on Aging, 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saint Joseph Health Systems will be providing on-site mammograms. Call 574-335-4500 or 1-888455-4450 to schedule your appointmen­t for this important screening. Walk-ins are welcome as schedule permits.

• Brief Legal Clinic is today at 12 p.m. at Marshall County Council on Aging/life Enrichment Center, 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth. Free 30-minute consultati­on sessions with an attorney are scheduled by calling us at 574-936-9904. No walk-ins are accepted.

• Care Connection­s located within Milton Village is a completely new and innovative way to experience the journey of caregiving for a person living with dementia. They will tour this open, socially inclusive model that offers support and provides strategies for communicat­ion and stress relief. They may even play some pool, visit the pub, or art studio located on the Main Street in the Village. They will also attend a Lunch & Learn presentati­on about Financial Record Keeping. There is no cost for this trip or presentati­on on Wednesday, June 21. We will depart from our building at 10:30 a.m. After an informativ­e day, we will return to Plymouth at approximat­ely 3 p.m. Seating space is limited on the mini bus, please call Marshall County Council on Aging/life Enrichment Center at 574-936-9904 to reserve your spot.

• The public is invited to register for Marshall County - Hope for Youth; a free presentati­on on polling data taken from local youth that illustrate­s current challenges facing Marshall County teens.
