The Moon’s Open Mic celebrates the Fall Equinox

-

It’s time for Open Mic Night! The public is cordially invited to attend this event. It takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Wild Rose Moon Center for Performing Arts located in Downtown Plymouth, next to the Marshall County Museum. This event takes place the 3rd Wednesday of every month and is a family-friendly, alcohol-free venue. Admission and parking are free.

To sign up, go to wildrosemoon.com, click on Programs/open Mic/learn More/sign Up, or call 574-276-1185, and leave a message about when you would like to perform and your sound system needs. Set lengths are 15 minutes or less, so time your material in advance. Performers of all ages and talent levels are welcomed. This includes dancers, poets, storytellers, stand-up comics, and lecturers, as well as singer/songwriters and musicians. All music genres are welcome as well.

Host/emcee, Martina Samm, registered dietitian/ nutritionist (RDN), will present Nutrition Education Outreach Now (NEON) at the beginning of the night. This month will begin a 5-part series: Superfoods! Martina remarked, “This series will be based on the book: Superfoods Rx: Fourteen foods that will change your life. Some foods are just more nutritious. Why not make an effort to include them in your diet on a regular basis to contribute to overall health? A wide variety of free nutritional handouts will be available.”

Wild Rose Moon’s sound system is top-notch and we have a super-duper backstage crew. We also have healthy snacks, cookies, coffee, and herbal teas to share. Join us and support the arts in our area! And special thanks to our underwriters, The Gibson Insurance Agency and The Todd and Ellen Stillson Foundation!
