PG Triad to meet
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Triad will meet on Monday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m., at the County library, located at 6605 Courts Drive in the courthouse complex. Seniors and other interested persons are encouraged to attend. Information will be shared that will be of great benefit to persons of all ages.
Speaker for this meeting will be Tom Veazey of the Central Virginia BBB, headquartered in Richmond. Veazey is Foundation program manager and he will address the group on being aware of and handling scams with emphasis on phone scams.
A statement released by the Prince George Triad reads, "Recently, there has been a resurgence of persons making unsolicited and unscrupulous calls on cell and home phones in an effort to con people out of funds or to steal their identity. The senior population is especially vulnerable to these schemes."
According to the statement, Triad is a partnership of seniors, law enforcement and community agencies and remains committed to keeping seniors safe, engaged and informed.
