PG Triad to meet

PRINCE GE­ORGE — Prince Ge­orge Triad will meet on Mon­day, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m., at the County li­brary, lo­cated at 6605 Courts Drive in the court­house com­plex. Se­niors and other in­ter­ested per­sons are en­cour­aged to at­tend. In­for­ma­tion will be shared that will be of great ben­e­fit to per­sons of all ages.

Speaker for this meet­ing will be Tom Veazey of the Cen­tral Vir­ginia BBB, head­quar­tered in Rich­mond. Veazey is Foun­da­tion pro­gram man­ager and he will ad­dress the group on be­ing aware of and han­dling scams with em­pha­sis on phone scams.

A state­ment re­leased by the Prince Ge­orge Triad reads, "Re­cently, there has been a resur­gence of per­sons mak­ing un­so­licited and un­scrupu­lous calls on cell and home phones in an ef­fort to con peo­ple out of funds or to steal their iden­tity. The se­nior pop­u­la­tion is es­pe­cially vul­ner­a­ble to these schemes."

Ac­cord­ing to the state­ment, Triad is a part­ner­ship of se­niors, law en­force­ment and com­mu­nity agen­cies and re­mains com­mit­ted to keep­ing se­niors safe, en­gaged and in­formed.
