Pa­tri­cia Ann Frangopoulos, 80, passed away at her res­i­dence on Fri­day, Jan­uary 4, 2019 af­ter a coura­geous two and a half year bat­tle with can­cer.

She was born in Wilm­ing­ton, Delaware to the Late Elmer and Stella Mullins. Pa­tri­cia resided in Columbia, S.C. for 22 years. Af­ter mov­ing to VA she be­came a mem­ber of St. Elpis Greek Ortho­dox Church where she served on Daugh­ters of Pene­lope and Ladies Aux­il­iary board. She was in­stru­men­tal in the suc­cess of the lo­cal Greek Fes­ti­val, spend­ing count­less hours pre­par­ing Greek food and was well known for her “Saniko­pita” and Pastit­sio dishes. Most im­por­tantly Pa­tri­cia was a kind, unas­sum­ing and car­ing mother, wife, grand­mother and friend to all she knew. Pa­tri­cia is pre­ceded in death by her lov­ing hus­band of 61 years, An­gelo S. Frangopoulos.

She is sur­vived by her son, Kevin Frangopoulos; her daugh­ter, Katharine Frangopoulos; grand­chil­dren, Erica Ripchick, Rachel Frangopoulos and Michael Smith.

The fam­ily will re­ceive friends on Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 9, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memo­rial Fu­neral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave in the his­toric city of Hopewell. A Greek ser­vice will fol­low in the fu­neral home at 7:00 p.m. Fi­nal rest will be pri­vate.
