Charles Ed­ward Dun­can, 65, of Hopewell, VA, joined his Heav­enly Fa­ther on De­cem­ber 19, 2018. He was the son of Mary Louise El­li­son and the late Ge­orge Dun­can, and step­son to the late Clyde El­li­son. He is sur­vived by his three chil­dren, David Alan Dun­can, Lisa M. Ger­ard and her hus­band, Justin T. Ger­ard, and Jes­sica Lee Dun­can Yancey; his step-daugh­ter, Danielle Billings; five grand­chil­dren, Ivey El­iz­a­beth Frances Dun­can, Emma Rae Ger­ard, Olivia Ruth Ger­ard, Ju­lia Reese Ger­ard, and Cora Lee Yancey; as well as his three sis­ters, Mar­garet Kay Carl­son, Tony Miller and her hus­band, Bob Miller, of Mas­sachusetts, and Ge­orge Ann Mor­gan and her hus­band, Leroy Mor­gan.

Charles “Chuck” Dun­can served his coun­try in the United States Army Air­borne Di­vi­sion and was a ded­i­cated tech­ni­cian for Honey­well. Chuck was a mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Le­gion (Post #146) and The Ea­gles.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held Satur­day, Jan­uary 12th, 2019, at The Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 146 in Hopewell, VA; the fam­ily will re­ceive vis­i­tors be­gin­ning at 1:00 p.m. and the memo­rial ser­vice will be­gin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions may be made to the Amer­i­can Le­gion, Post 146, 217 E City Point Road, Hopewell, VA 23860.
