Wilson-Smith worthy of reelection in Petersburg

The Progress-Index - - OPINION -

I was born and reared in Petersburg, Virginia. I graduated from Peabody High School, went into the Air Force and to college and now work as an attorney with my own law firm in Lake Ridge, Virginia.

No matter how far I go in life, my hometown is always near and dear to me. I still have family in Petersburg with whom I visit and I attend several community events and family gatherings. I support charitable activities in the City.

I am writing to tell you of a very special City Council member who sends me emails at least once a week and sometimes more; keeping me abreast of the many issues and events occurring in my beloved hometown. Some may see those emails as not so important but to me they mean the world. It is commendable that you have a council woman who is willing to take time from her busy day to inform her constituents of issues in Petersburg but also others like me who are far removed.

Treska Wilson-Smith is that diamond. She is ENGAGED with a capital E. I have found her always willing to reach out far and beyond to keep citizens involved. Were it not for her sincere desire to improve the lot of citizens, to keep them engaged and informed, I would have missed many opportunities to support my City. She brings a needed vitality to the City and is a person worthy of the citizens re-electing. I certain hope and pray that the citizens of our great city recognize her talents and value by re-electing her! Emmett F. Robinson, Esq. Prince William County, VA
